GESTIÓN DE ENERGÍA Y MERCADOS or GEM is a young company, although its work structure in the field of energy management and efficiency dates to 1999. Originally, it was born out of the need to advise energy transforming industries, mainly cogeneration facilities, in monitoring their operating parameters, maintenance or the regulatory framework.

The professionals that make up GEM have been linked to different engineering and consulting companies in the energy field, mainly within the SACYR Group, with extensive experience in this discipline.

GEM is 100% owned by SACYR CONCESIONES, a leading company in the development of projects, with extensive experience in the integral management of the life cycle of concessions: design, construction, operation and maintenance. SACYR CONCESIONES, in turn, is integrated into SACYR, a diversified multinational group that has a presence in some thirty countries, being a benchmark in construction and management of infrastructures, industrial projects and services. In recent years, SACYR has made a strong commitment to innovation and international expansion.

Specialized in energy management and efficiency, at GEM we put all our knowledge at the service of the client, in the following business lines:

 

  • Market agent: active in the Iberian electricity market since 2004, we represent power plants of various technologies such as cogeneration, generation with biomass or biogas, with Specific Remuneration Regime.
     
  • Electrical metering management:  Our system allows the acquisition, validation and estimation of the metering data, as well as the calculation of the energy magnitudes at the delivery points and other indicators. Besides, since 2017, GEM is authorized as electrical metering Secondary Concentrator by the System Operator, Red Eléctrica de España. All this, so that our clients can completely disregard their fiscal metering data.
     
  • Energy management: We seek to maximize the energy efficiency and economic performance of managed facilities. To achieve this, we carry out actions such as tracking and monitoring of electrical and thermal parameters, maintenance assistance, preparation of energy balances or energy supplies management.
     
  • Energy Consultancy: fully focused on the specific needs raised by our clients, whether they are private companies or public institutions; from issues related to legislation, energy audits and feasibility studies, going through the drafting of specifications for bids for energy supplies, technical assistance in inspections and even Owner’s engineering with technical advice in purchase and sale operations of assets of power plants or on the acquisition and commissioning operation of main energy equipment, etc.
     
  • Projects: We design and execute various solutions, mainly improvements and modifications in existing facilities, to obtain greater efficiency or adapt them to regulatory changes.


In GESTIÓN DE ENERGÍA Y MERCADOS, we are active participants in the energy sector. We are associates in ACOGEN, COGEN and APPA, as well as in the working group with Red Eléctrica of Secondary Concentrators.
